The Globalising Art, Architecture and Design History project was born as a constructive response to the criticisms in the QAA Subject Overview Report for Art, Architecture and Design History. The report (QO 10/98 para 5) stated that 'aims and objectives concentrated heavily on western art and culture and display little cultural diversity'. You can access the full report online.
You will need Acrobat Reader to open the QAA Report file. (download AR)

GLAADH is part of a large group of national initiatives that seek to improve Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. From the National Coordination Team's website you can access a list and description for all the current projects.
GLAADH is one of the projects launched under Phase 3 of the Fund for the Development of Teaching and Learning (FDTL) programme. You will find it listed in the NCT website

The NCT works on behalf of the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and the Department for Higher and Further Education, Training and Employment (DHFETE) of Northern Ireland, to manage and co-ordinate the Fund for the Development of Teaching and Learning (FDTL) and the Teaching and Learning Technology Programme (TLTP). Both initiatives are focused on encouraging innovation and new developments within learning and teaching.
